Wanted: Tomato 'Japanese Black Trifele'

Despite its name, this is Russian tomato! A.k.a Black Russian Truffel Tomato. Semi-determinate, short vines and as with other Russian varieties will take poor weather. Bartlett-pear-shaped tomatoes with a deep black colour and green shoulders.
Wonderful flavour with an extrordinary richness. Fruits are blemish and crack free. Heavy cropper.

I am always on the lookout for the best flavoured tomatoes. I think this one is the one Raymond Blanc chose for best flavour.
