I’m having a go at sprouting and growing anything that comes through the kitchen. The mango seed that I scrubbed and placed in a shallow tray of water has grown two roots that have headed down into the water and under the seed.
When it cools down a bit, I’ll place it on some soil in a pot and keep that damp and see if I can get it to grow into a seedling tree.
Currently, the roots look like two legs attempting to pry apart the seed.

I’ve planted the pip in a pot.
Over a week, the two legs of roots have thickened near the pip and are green in colour. Also, there is a loop that is growing up that has the appearance of wanting to continue to grow up, rather than down like roots.
