For this year 2008, thought I would try a leaf lettuce and start from seed since I never have had any luck with head lettuce. I sowed them early – March 30, as the next few days are supposed to be warmer with light rain.
April 13-20 – I think there are some small seedlings starting to show.
May 19, 2008 – have thinned out and transplanted the lettuce which is growing nicely.
June 3, 2008 – the Lettuce is doing great. Several are getting good sized.
July 27, 2008 – Have picked lots of lettuce. It is now starting to go to seed.
September 30, 2008 – Have collected seeds and will plant again next year with plenty of seeds to trade.
