From the packet:
“Runway has the attractive deeply serrated leaves of wild rocket and its own distinctive, excellent flavour which is tangy and peppery but not bitter. Fast and vigorous growing, it is late to bolt, producing numerous leaves and can be sown close for baby leaf or harvested as mature plants”
Prefers moist, fertile soil.
How to grow from seed:
Sow outdoors, mid March – August thinly at fortnightly intervals for succession, in rows 30 cm apart. Thin to 10 cm between plants and use thinnings in the salad bowl. Keep moist, do not allow to dry out – this helps to prevent them running to seed.
Harvest:
Mid May – October. Pick whole heads or individual leaves as required from approx 5 weeks after sowing. Take a few leaves at a time from each plant they will regrow for up to 3 – 4 cuts.
Sow by: 2010
