SusieQ's Strawberries 'Chandler'

Got these from Warren for doing such a good job tilling his garden with the tractor. He showed up with a big old bag of sad looking little plants (they’d been in cold storage for awhile), but I had hopes since they weren’t mushy. He said he’d planted about 600 and was just sick of them by now ;), so brought the rest to me.

I planted 150+ right away. I already had the bed ready ~ had moved the chicken coop over and tilled it a week or more before. Besides the chicken manure and left over feed for fertilizer, I brought in two tractor buckets from the horse manure pile and tilled that in. The strawberries should love that.

I gave about fifty or seventy five away and still have three dozen in the fridge waiting for Rhonda. But I’m thinking she may not have time to do it after all, so I’ll need to find room somewhere for them just in case.
