This planting has been archived (Harvested) Fertilization is essential, so never remove the male flowers. Provide adequate support and tie in regularly. Remove all side shoots as they appear and restrict the plant to one main stem. Outdoor plants remove growing tip in late summer to hasten ripening.

Keep protected if frost is forecast with a fleece or a cloche.

They require daily watering and feeding with a high potassium, tomato fertiliser once a week when the fruit has begun to set. The ‘Ailsa Craig’ is a cordon plant that will require staking and support as it produces a heavy crop of tomatoes over a long period. Will require side shoots ‘pinching out’.
