    Never harvested a single leaf.

Lettuce 'Black seeded simpson' and Afternoon Sun Facing Maddie's House garden
Deer / Rabbits / heat conspired against me. Maybe better luck in 2013

    11 Days after transplant

    Lettuce 'Black seeded simpson' Growing
Down to 5 plants. Slugs / Rabbits / Heat probably cause of death. Lesson to be learned for next fall / year. Let the seedling grow bigger before transplanting. I think they were just too small to survive the shock, or to bounce back from some nipping.

Lost a few of the transplants due to heat...

    Lettuce 'Black seeded simpson'
I guess the little guys just could not take it. I would say I have lost 20%. I need to find shade cloth for next year.
    Sunny 32°C / 90°F
