gingern's Sweet Pomegranate

Growing in 6-8 hours full sun with radiant heat in a west-facing small front courtyard. I am hoping it will provide shade to the A/C unit by the Summer of 09. I have staked the central leader and pruned the growing tips of lateral branches throughout the first growing season (2008). During coming years, I will remove lowest branches for a more tree-like effect. I suspect the stake will need to stay for 2-3 years.
