21 seeds germinated out of 24 sown (very respectable as the seeds were packed in 2008 and expired in 2011). 3 weaker seedlings discarded; 18 seedlings potted up into 6cm fibre pots on 20th March. By 16th April, these were falling over under their own weight. Twelve plants have been potted up in six deep 3.5L pots, destined in the long term for the allotment.

If sowing directly, sow at a depth of approx. 0.78 inches (2.0 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 2.60 feet (80.0 cm) between Tomato plants.
Tomato 'Gardener's delight' normally tends to reach to a mature height of 1.20 metres [imperial: 3.90 feet] so ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant.
