I’ve always been curious about saffron crocuses. They are one zone outside mine, so I finally convinced myself that I could handle them if I put them in a pot on the porch instead of in the ground. The porch still gets pretty cold, so they will get some appropriate winter, but it should be able to at least maintain zone 6. If the experiment fails miserably and they are extremely unhappy here, my sister will be all too happy to have me ship her the survivors.
