JosephsGarden's Chives Care Instructions
Look to ensure a distance 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) between seeds when sowing - cover at a depth of at least 0.51 inches (1.3 cm) deep if you are going to sow this directly in the garden.
Chives normally grows to a mature height of 45.0 cm (that's 1.46 feet imperial) so ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant.
Your garden is in dappled sun light: plant in a location that enjoys full sun.
Remember to water moderately.
Your garden's USDA Hardiness Zone (5a) is within the ideal range for Chives. The recommended range is between Zone 3 and 9.
Chives tends to grow best in a soil ph of between 5.2 and 8.3 meaning it does best in acidic to alkaline soil.

One of my earliest crops in the spring. Chives have not been heavily inbred so they are genetically diverse when planted from seed, so lots of opportunity to select out what grows best in my garden.
