So thought they ought to be doing it in the ground!
I’ve planted themin a shallow bowl, and put them in a sunny spot. Will have to keep an eye out for mice and squirrels though!

misskittin's Saffron Crocus Care Instructions
Try for a seed spacing of at approx. 3.9 inches (10.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 3.9 inches (10.0 cm) if planning to sow direct.
Saffron Crocus normally grows to a mature height of 10.0 cm (that's 3.9 inches imperial) so ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant.
Your garden's USDA Hardiness Zone (8b) is within the ideal range for Saffron Crocus. The recommended range is between Zone 6 and 9.
Common Saffron Crocus problems include voles and squirrels are pests, container, so keep a close eye out for any developing symptoms.
