This tender Japanese variety has broad leaves that are deep green, slightly savoyed, and have short pale green midribs. It can withstand both hot and cold temperatures and is very slow to bolt. Good for fresh market and home garden growing.

Try for a seed spacing of at approx. 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.39 inches (1.0 cm) if planning to sow direct.
Chard 'Umaina' normally grows to a mature height of 45.0 cm (that's 1.46 feet imperial) so ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant.
Remember to water moderately.
Chard 'Umaina' ideally needs a soil ph of 6.1 to 7.5 (acidic to alkaline soil), so check your soil acidity regularily.
