Last year, I rooted some hydroponic basil in water and then planted them in pots in the kitchen. This year, I bought a bunch and just stuck them straight into some wet soil and we’ll see how they do. I figure the smaller ones have a high likelihood of survival and will have a much bigger head start when they start growing than if I tried to take cuttings.
