Mixed freebie seeds and recent swap seeds.
Sorted to remove any obviously damaged or rotten kernels, then soaked ~10 hrs, in purified water. Water changed 2 times during soak process, to remove tannins.
Soaked seeds were then sown in paper toweling + clean glass jar with loose lid.
Random mix of corn seeds may contain:
Mostly Maroon Indian corn of unknown name,
Shoepeg type yellow called ‘Truegold’,
colorful-husked corn called ‘True Platinum’,
& ’Hooker’s Blue Aka Hooker’s Indian’ – these last 2 from Jenniferworthen,
+ others.
First sprouts – and also most vigorous- seem to be the maroon colored Indian corn.
Second sprouts seem to be from True Platinum
3rd sprouts appear to be from Hookers Blue.
Others all appear to be rather reluctant to germinate.
