Bought a red bell pepper from Sainsbury’s, and after yummy cooking, planted the seeds and there was a decent germination rate.

Only 3-4 are looking ‘big’, but that would be the unstable weather.

Try for a seed spacing of at approx. 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm) if planning to sow direct.

    You’ve done better than I have! Last year we were eating them form just a few plants from the allotment but this year I planted out 100s but not had a single pepper of them to eat yet! In another fortnight the plants will probably be a black mess! :-((
