Plant: Crinum lily (Crinum x herbertii) | Variety: Milk-and-wine lily

These lilies have been in our yard since before we bought the property in April 2009. This is the first time they flower as we mowed over them because we did not have a garden yet. Now I just cleared around them and both patches are flowering. It would be a nice thing to find out the variety. I think it is candy stripped but not so sure.

I had a quick look using google images and found milk and wine lily – http://doleaf.com/listings/398-crinum-lily-milk-and-wine-xl-bulb-and-plant – looks like a match – and what a beauty it is!

Thanks Teresa. I have to dig these lilies out and divide them in the fall. Looks like they have been there for years of neglect.

These crinum were dug out and now I have some in the front of the house and in the back. Some were swapped and I hope they are doing good wherever they are. Can’t wait for the flowers which will be around May.
