This is just beautiful, the colour of the leaves a rich dark burgundy. It flowers later in the year, and it attracts insects. What more could I ask for? It needs planting with something grey and fuzzy, or with blue flowers. I will have to put some thought in to where to position it.

Good luck with yours! This has been a tough little plant for me. I had it in a terrible location and thought it was over 1/2 the way dead this spring, but I moved it into my perennial bed and it is doing well. Mine in in late morning and afternoon sun, in ammended soil and typically gets watered about 3x per week.

Mine is still in it’s pot, but will probably get planted tomorrow on my Eldest’s birthday (weather permitting). The spot I’m thinking of gets sun from 10am till 3.30pm, and the label says full sun / partial shade, so I’m hoping this will do the trick as it will get the hottest bit of sun (weather permitting) :-p

I have this plant and love it; it is not in the best place, probably a bit more shade than it likes, but is slowly increasing.

It sounds like it is a tough little fighter then, and a popular plant too. I am amazed I’ve not encountered it before.
