Updated description 27/08/08:
I love this plant. Absolutely adore it. From the few sad shriveled strings I inherited from my ex-girlfriend just over a year ago, I have two lovely cascading pots full with strings trailing down at least 4 feet each. Last time I repotted a few strings broke off so I put them in another pot, and that’s now a healthy, thriving plant too.
It seems to love dappled sunlight (more shade in summer, less in winter) and water every 4-5 days (2-3 days in the heat of summer). Flowers in winter. New plants can be propagated from any part of the stem that’s broken off, just lay it across the surface of some soil and pat it in a bit and it will take root.
- and any branches that break off can be stuck in the dirt, most of them will generate roots & keep growing. Succulents are so easy, just don’t believe the one-size-fits-all plant care tags.
This succulent does not, in fact, like the generic “full sun/minimal water” that gets stuck on every single succulent plant sold by lazy retailers. We tried keeping it in those conditions but it shrivelled and looked very sad indeed. Part-shade and regular water have returned it to thriving health. The one pot my girlfriend bought has been split up into four plantings, and my two are waiting on the perfect hanging baskets before they find their final home. Grows fast

SO JEALOUS! I tried and tried to go grow that in Manila, but it’s just too hot here. What I need is an air conditioned green house!

I’m really jealous too. I have one of these and I love it, but it doesn’t compare to yours.
