I grow these cucumbers up vertical garden structures – home made bamboo tepees which are very effective and allow me to maximise the space I grow in. You can make these very cheaply for under $1. You can follow the instructions on how to make them at http://themicrogardener.com/how-to-make-bamboo-tepee/ and look at more vertical garden options for your growing space at http://themicrogardener.com/add-space-with-creative-vertical-gardens-part-1/.
Continually harvesting these cucumbers – they are crisp and crunchy and kept well up off the ground in our hot humid summer with these tepees. This technique helps avoid powdery mildew too.
