verthandei's Zebra Plant

Why am I such a sucker buying plants at the hardware store? This plant was labeled a zebra plant, but it has very pale leaves instead of green and white (and no purple underneith) so I don’t know if it really is or if the wrong tag was stuck in the pot. Some of the lower leaves were looking pretty sad, and it was dry as a stone (I don’t know how plants survive in those over-air conditioned places) but it had nice new growth at the tip, and some of the dark one has beautiful yellow bracts. It looked like a good candidate for the Cave Garden. We’ll see.
