puu's borage

Plant: Borage (Borago officinalis) | 0 | Very Happy

planted a couple of borage seeds from Horizon Herbs last year. those grew into two big borage plants last year. those two spilled their seed and there are hundreds this year. I like the flowers and so do good bugs. we eat them in salads and freeze them into ice cubes for lemonade. my mom says she’s going to use the leaves to make ravioli and chestnut-flour gnocchi, which sounds delicious. my sister added some leaves to stir-fry the other day that turned out really good. basically, a useful and pretty plant that grows without any work at all. if it gets out of hand, it’s really easy to pull up.
