Bearded Iris
Their graceful, elegant flowers open one or two at a time on stems held well above the fans of stiff leaves. They come in a amazing range of colors, from pure white to the darkest purple, there is one to suit every gardener.
TIP: Over the years and the knowledge from my Mother…The Iris prefers its bulb or better known as rhizomes to be a little bare and somewhat above the ground. They will still grow and bloom under but if left alone over time will work their way to the surface. Rhizomes are funny things, insted of growing straight up and down they grow horizontally.. In some plants that type of root structure can be very invasive.
