Description:
‘Perle d’Or’ produces clusters of tiny perfect buds in apricot peach. The blooms arewonderfully colored with apricot, then fade to buff and finally a golden pink as the bloom matures. The color will hold best if the plant receives afternoon shade. Flushes of blooms occur repeatedly all season. The blooms are strongly perfumed, and the cut flowers can fill an entire room with scent. Requires very little pruning, a little deadheading and prune to maintain size if you like. ‘Perle d’Or’ is one of the larger polyantha roses. ‘Perle d’Or’ is an EarthKind rose (very hardy and easy to grow), thriving in most soils and conditions and is quite drought tolerant once established.
Now that I have grown this a bit i have moved it from the rose garden to the new terrace where its mounding habit will work better. Its foliage has stayed clean and free of blackspot so far, and it is supposed to be drought tolerant. Its soft tousled informal look goes well with the sea holly. It is full of bees.
