I’ve created a Monster!!
This pepino has given me one lil fruit in its 18 months of living here in Pepino Centrale. Delicious!! But only one! And the little potbound cuties that I see in the nurseries always seem to have loads just waiting to ripen.
Then a friend of mine told me about chook poo and how plants that fruit n flower need that-stuff-that-isn’t-nitrogen to do their thing! The things you learn when you move from growing just leafy foods to actual fruiting perennials!

So, this is a shot of 2 of about 4 or 5 monster pepino babies that I’m waiting for to change colour and get that heavenly delicate rockmelon-y smell. They’ve been this colour and size for about 3 months now, I’m hoping that the warmer weather approaching will ‘turn’ them.
