I planted these with the Butte variety. I purchased 2 lbs.
From the company website description:
To say that this potato is excellent, might be considered by some, an insult. After just one bite of this mouth watering creamy yellow flesh potato you’ll know why it won first place in Rodale’ Organic Gardening “Taste Off”. Introduced by David Ronniger in 1988 from a handful of potatoes which he then increased. It’s so good, you don’t need the butter.

If you would like to sow this plant directly, try 5.85 inches (15.0 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 11.7 inches (30.0 cm).
Ensure you have enough space in your garden for this plant - Potato 'German Butterball' is known for growing to a height of approximately 1.20 metres (that's 3.90 feet in imperial).
Your garden has full sun light - try to position in a partial sun location instead.
Remember to water moderately.
Your garden has neutral soil (7.0) which is not within the known ideal range for Potato 'German Butterball'. The recommended range is between pH 5.0 and 6.0 (acidic soil) - you may have to reassess the suitability of this plant for your garden.
Potato 'German Butterball' tends to be susceptible to Early Blight so keep a note of any developing symptoms.
