Today I made the final, massive, pepper harvest. Green peppers and a few remaining pepperocini. I also harvested quite a few cherry and Roma tomatoes. Soil temperature remains a warm 85 F even as nights become cooler.Sunny 31°C / 88°F -

My first two cantaloupes nearly popped right off the vine today. It marks the first time I’ve been able to protect the cantaloupes to maturity. I also gathered a few cherry tomatoes which have made a stunning recovery since the deer damage. As always I gathered a sack load of cucumbers.Sunny 31°C / 88°F -

Pulled the first watermelon from the country garden today. The vine had begun to wither in the heat and the melon was large and nearly ripe. A few days sitting out and it was sweet and delicious.
