iechris's Japanese Maple 'Tamukeyama'

Plant: Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum) | Variety: Tamukeyama | 0 |

I knew I wanted a Japanese Maple and I also knew what I REALLY wanted was one with red, heavily dissected leaves. I saw this at the Farmer’s Market Spring Festival and just couldn’t pass it up. They had two INCREDIBLE, huge plants, but they didn’t take credit cards, even I can’t justify spending that much money ($300- still a great price for the size) and woudn’t have known where to put it.

So, then I was stuck trying to decide between the size I ended up getting and the next larger size that was twice as much. I finally decided I could justify getting the smaller size, plus the baby ‘Butterfly’ and a ‘Bloodgood’ seedling, so I got the smaller size. I think it is a beautiful plant.

Right now the plant is still in its nursery pot, which I set inside a larger fiberglass pot. It is currently living in the back corner of the right hand side of the perennial bed, just in front of the waterheater hut.
