cristina's zucca trombetta d'Albenga Seeds x 75
Trombetta di Albenga means ‘little trumpet from Albenga’ and it is an Italian heirloom climbing winter squash. It has a mild and delicate flavour.
The plant is a strong climber, the fruits are thin, slightly crooked, trumpet-shaped; skin is pale green when unripe and yellow when ripe.
Fruits can grow up to 1 m long, but they are usually harvested when 20-30 cm long and used as courgettes. If harvested when 10-15 cm long they are very tender and can be eaten raw (they are really good!). They are simply cooked with tomato sauce and are usually used for frittata and for pies too.
