Pam, from the coop, sent me a small rooted plug of this plant from her garden with my last order. Planted right away in Rhodie on the house side, where it will have partial shade.
PULMONARIA saccharata MRS. MOON – Bethlehem Sage – Short 10"- Plant 16" apart. z 3-8. Mounds of deep green foliage with silver spots. Does well even in dry shady conditions. Bright pink flowers open in early spring and then turn blue with maturity. Will lighten up and lend impact to dark areas.
General Information
Fabulous shade plant with semi-evergreen foliage which remains attractive. Mounding habit will spread out to make a beautiful foliage display without being aggressive. Works well under deciduous trees and along woodland pathways. Excellent with bulbs or under trees. New introductions are constantly expanding the choices in leaf coloring.
Plant Care
May become dormant in extended dry spells. Early spring cleanup before flowering begins.
