Introduced to American gardeners in 1892 by Thorburn from seed they obtained from Japan. Vigorous growth, strong grasping tendrils, the best variety we offer for trellises. Can also be grown on the ground. Fruits are 7-9" long by 3" in diameter, fine quality for both slicing or pickling. 58-65 days.
