One of the ‘Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye’ seedlings was tall enough to think about planting out. Though I have not had the advertised success with EarthBoxes, I decided to continue using them. I have many tomato varieties to choose from so it took a little bit for me to decide which to plant in the EarthBox. Although I have some varieties that are better suited to container growing (because I was toying with using my Topsy Turvy planters this year…I ended up giving them to my mom so that she’s have an easy way to ease into gardening), I decided to grow ‘Black Krim’ and some of the various ‘Tie-Dye’ types in the EarthBoxes so that I’ll be able to directly compare the EarthBoxes to open soil. I have enough seedlings of these types to do that. The others are boughten tomatoes and thus singles.
