Several sprouts emerged March 4, 2010. They’re having a bit of trouble shaking off the seed coat.
June 27, 2010. Low germination rate, compared with peppers or tomatoes. Very steady, robust growers – they will get very tall and lanky. The plant I kept has grown to 5 feet in 4 months or so, and is making its’ first attempts at budding. Staking is an absolute must. Really, really water-loving plants. Various leaf-eaters will love ‘em to death – aphids and whiteflies haven’t been much of a problem, but things like beetles will tear ’em up. Very attractive plants, in a lanky sort of way, with great heart-shaped serrated leaves.
