This is one of the wonders of our early spring garden, one of those plants that you never think about or remember until it does it’s “thing”. It’s a compact, low growing plant that has delicately veined maroon leaf’s which are a prefect backdrop to the amazingly shiny, bright, indeed .. brazen .. yellow flowers. a hidden treasure in out boggy garden (though it isn’t in the boggy bit, and seems to cope very well with dry summers and the like).
