May night mare of Black spot and masses of roses turning brown

Yep it’s still here and it is heart breaking. I have the Cotton seed mill but it is just too late. All the leaves are falling from the MAY QUEEN and she looks really really sick. New Dawn was a wash with blooms (still think they sent me a CB instead as she has not bloomed but x 2 in 3 years...

Salvia - Forsythia and Rollins Greenhouse garden
I checked this morning and the largest flowers still weren’t open. Checking again this evening was worth it though… two of them opened. =) Three cuttings were taken from the last hack-back of this plant at the Rollins greenhouse. This one was from June or July, while the others were f...

    Rooftop Pot Veggie garden
Well, folks, it has happened! I was out on the rooftop watering my pots this morning, oh yes, I am an early riser like all good growers, up with the sun, and as I was watering my Aubergine/Brinjal/Eggplant/whatever I noticed a major change. There is now a major part of the bush that I cannot see ...

some of us can draw (others tell funny stories)

This is a general idea of how my front garden is laid out, overall. And maybe it is more helpful than the separate shots. I had a friend in another state lament that she couldn’t just walk through, so I went out and tried to do a little video. Did you know that your hands jiggle when you&...

Tango Lilies moved to North wall garden

LILY 'Tango' Graffiti and Round Raised Bed Center Court garden
The parking lot round bed was too much for me to handle. The weeds were in constant need of hoeing, so I gave responsibility back to the HOA. I will put these to the west of the Azaleas because they may need some support due to heliotropism to the eastern sun. Their colors are yellow, orange an...

July 18th and 19th, Jas and I noticed the beginnings of cucumbers and watermelons! It’s a very exciting thing =). That cucumber vine seems to be growing like crazy! The sugar snap peas have been growing too. It’s weird with the peas though; one day, it looks like just leaves and the n...

yellow is the color of the meadows (at the end of April)

Dandelions are gone, but the meadows are still yellow: now it’s the moment for the buttercups. Also the brooms are blooming. The next yellow blooming will the golden chains, probably at the beginning of June. 1, 2 – buttercups 3 – broom 4, 5 – other yellow wild flowers blooming ...

    white iceberg rose
My white iceberg roses are looking glum. Still getting lots of yellow leaves (mostly in the lower areas, as seen in photo). It’s blooming, but the blooms look weak and droopy. I tried both scaling back on watering and increasing watering frequency, but didn’t notice much difference. I...
