Planting out Pulsatilla
Pulsatilla vulgaris - Pasque Flower 'Papageno' Planting Out, New Stuff Planting & Patiently Waiting garden ...
Overcast 7°C / 44°FIt has gotten very cold a bit too early, so I felt I had to get this in the ground to give it any chance at surviving the winter. All the seedlings have their true leaves now, so hopefully there will be enough time for the roots to establish and gain some strength before the ground freezes. I pla...

Pulsatilla vulgaris - Pasque Flower 'Papageno' Showing True Leaves, New Stuff Planting & Patiently Waiting ...
Sunny 21°C / 70°FI think there are five sprouts in these two cells. Three of them, the three older ones, now have true leaves. I want them to get a bit bigger before I plant them out. I am thinking I will plant out the seedlings in one cell, and maybe pot up the others for the cold frame over the winter. I want ...

Repotting Work

Inside the House garden , Solenostemon scutellarioides - Coleus - 'Rainbow Mix' Potting Up, Fittonia albive...
Indoors 20°C / 68°FSomehow I managed to do something to give me back spasms over the past couple of days, so even with a day off today, I didn’t want to make it worse by trying to work outside at something like weeding and mulching. So I decided to take care of some things in the house plant department that n...

New Stuff Planting & Patiently Waiting garden , Citrus x limon - Lemon Moved, Inside the House garden , and...
Indoors 20°C / 68°FI haven’t written anything about those Lemon seeds and one Clementine seed that I sowed, just for the hell of it. Well, over the summer, I have gotten what I believe are two Lemon and one Clementine seedlings. It is possible that all three are Lemon, but the leaves seem a bit different to m...

Dianthus sprouts growing
1
Dianthus - 'Spooky' Showing True Leaves and New Stuff Planting & Patiently Waiting garden
Sunny 31°C / 88°FOne of the two cells of this Dianthus are growing fine – now have two true sets of leaves on a couple of stems. The other is still pretty much the same. They may have gotten a bit saturated with the rain last weekend. I had moved them out of the direct rain but the tray still got filled wit...

Sinningia becoming house plants

Sinningia lineata Potting Up, Inside the House garden , Sinningia lineata Potting Up, and New Stuff Plantin...
Indoors 16°C / 61°FTwo of the Sinningia were potted up into self watering pots from the temporary bowls they were in under the grow lights. There were 12 Sinninga plants altogether, still under the grow lights in plastic bowls. Since they are a relatively rare plant I cannot find a lot of information about them, ho...

I'm growing caraway!
Caraway Potting Up
I’ve had 100% germination from Sunshine’s seeds, and today carefully separated the seedlings and transplanted them into individual pots. Once they’re established I’ll figure out where to transplant them to. Some to containers, some to Cottonwood, some given away, I think.15°C / 59°F -

Sowing for fall planting perennials

New Stuff Planting & Patiently Waiting garden , Trillium grandiflorum - White Trillium Sown, Pulsatilla vul...
Sunny 28°C / 82°FIt’s a little late to get these started, but we’ll see how far they get. I can always overwinter them in the cold frame. These are mostly early spring blooming perennials or long-establishing plants, so I am hoping to get a head start and at least get them in the ground this fall. Gre...

Finally sprouting
100 Phlox paniculata - Tall Garden Phlox - mixed David, Nicki, Becky Towe Sprouting and 2009 Winter Sowing ...
After all this time, there is a new small sprout that appears like it could be Phlox. The leaves are the right shape and appearance. It is about 2 inches tall, so I’ll watch as it grows and see if it truly is Phlox.Sunny 26°C / 78°F
