A second flush of flowers
Dianthus - "Rainbow Loveliness" Blooming and Welcome garden
July 18, 2008 – It is just about done blooming and now needs to be cut back. Aug 14, 2008 – looks like we are hagving another flush of blooms on some of the plants.

In Full Bloom
Dianthus - "Rainbow Loveliness" Blooming and Welcome garden
July 6, 2008 – the Rainbow Dianthus in full bloom. There are five distinct flower colors – white, white with maroon center circle, lavender, lavender with bright pink center circle, and bright dark pink. It has grown into a large mound and is about 18 inches at the tallest.

June 17, 2008 – starting to bloom. The clump has grown and spread quite a bit.

Dianthus - "Rainbow Loveliness" Breaking Dormancy and Welcome garden
April 9, 2008 – The Seedlings survived the winter, and are growing strong.

A variety of colors
Dianthus - "Rainbow Loveliness" Blooming and Welcome garden
There are now two different colors of the Dianthus in bloom. The first full flower was in full bloom on Oct 14. The flowers are deeply fringed – very pretty.

Dianthus - "Rainbow Loveliness" Transplanted and Welcome garden
These were from my seed-starting project in early July 2007. I planted six seedlings in the center of Welcome on August 15, 2007.
