    Happy Himalayan honeysuckle

pheasant berry bush Blooming and Littlest's scrabbling patch, Bunlett's pot, and my Mediterranean garden
The pheasant berry bush is romping away very happily. Just to think that it looked like a few twigs just sticking out of the ground for ages. The leaves shot up in the summer, and now the flowers and berries are showing in the bracts. Spiders are happily nestling in the leaves, waiting for unwary...

Strange flowers on the pheasant berry bush

pheasant berry bush Flowering and Littlest's scrabbling patch, Bunlett's pot, and my Mediterranean garden
The Pheasant berry is starting to get interesting, it has grown phenomenally since I last wrote about it. The twigs are gone and there are metre long stems with big leaves terminating with pale bracts and white trumpet shaped flowers. The bracts are already starting to tinge red, and later they w...

    Pleasant pheasant berry buds ahoy!

pheasant berry bush Budding and Littlest's scrabbling patch, Bunlett's pot, and my Mediterranean garden
Well, this is coming along nicely. I think I found the beginnings of some flower buds at the end of one of the stalks this evening. The plant is not bushing out too excessively, nor is it drooping, but I might tie back some of the stems because they are crowding out Bunlett’s pot a bit. As ...

    Leaves for soup

Goji Berry and Mini Organic garden
The goji berry plant is growing pretty fast. It seems to like to cool weather. I have cut the fresh leaves from the three plants and there are enough to make some soup.

    Planting Out

Goji Berry Planting Out and Mini Organic garden
The plant was rooted from a cutting that was given to me by someone. Goji berry is very easy to root. All I did was stick one of the branch cutting into a clear plastic container with potting soil and wait for it to root indoor. This was done a couple weeks before putting it out for planting.

    Not dead yet :-)

pheasant berry bush and Littlest's scrabbling patch, Bunlett's pot, and my Mediterranean garden
I just thought you might like to know that the Pheasant berry bush is suddenly shooting up after having remained quite small for ages. No sign of anything other than leaves yet, but that is to be expected.

    Lopsided Fruits

Loganberry Flowering and Party in the Back garden
Not every bit of the berries was pollinated. So only certain cells are plumping up. I was really hoping for a better harvest than last year. I’ve watered better but it doesn’t matter if the flowers aren’t getting pollinated.

    Planting Out

pheasant berry bush Planting Out and Littlest's scrabbling patch, Bunlett's pot, and my Mediterranean garden
I would really like to see this do well, though I don’t have much idea what a grown one looks like, I have seen the flowers and berries, and they are fantastic! At the moment though, it looks like some pretty disappointing twigs stuck in a pot.
