This garden I am hoping to.....
Edible garden
Rainy 13°C / 55°F
write about my berry collections… I think they deserve a garden journal of their own.. At least, write about any good or bad luck with them.
For a couple of years now, I have been growing strawberries with some luck. That could well be my fault as I do get rather busy with work and forget a...

During the night I got out to my ‘baby plant stand’ and planted up 10 jiffy pots with Snow Peas. I planted some last season in jiffy pots and they did very well… I’m going to plant an equal amount direct in the garden tomorrow and see which does better with it’s earl...17°C / 63°F -

Broccoli Pinetree mix Setting Fruit, Leeks, nursery starts, late planting , and Turnip final planting
Cloudy 9°C / 49°F
The warmth just goes on and on. Still getting a half-cup of raspberries every day. New onions have sprouted, and the leeks appear to be growing, as are spinach (finally), new radishes, turnips and beets. The broccoli, which I thought I had harvested completely, is still sending out florets, inc...

The seed leaves are all shriveled and dried up looking, yet there it is, standing up. What does this mean? Will it still ...Sunny 2°C / 35°F -

Overcast 4°C / 39°FThere are a few remaining plants in the kitchen garden which are not only still kicking, but doing very well. The ‘Trafalgar’ Brussels are doing extremely well. The tagline in the catalogue called them Christmas sprouts because of their long standing ability. I often leave my Brussel...

Peas - sugar snap Dying, tomato - sweet grape Harvesting, Tomato - roma Harvesting, Watermelon - sugarbaby ...
The peas are now done – really were a week or two back, I just pushed them til they stopped and grasshoppers started munching. Chooks: starting with eggs and The Chook's garden
Rainy 24°C / 75°F
Bugger.
Of the 12 eggs I’ll be lucky to get one, the rest are infertile. Igor has failed in his duties, he didn’t fetch enough lightning rods it seems.
Being a new mom I was unsure what to expect and while I’ve been candling the eggs and had my suspicions, I’ve been led as...

6.58pm Raining and everything looks sodden; the snow is down to less than a hundred metres above the valley bottom.
In the garden, there are still some fresh Autumn crocuses, including in the Bay Garden towards the east end, and lots of bashed down, limp bodies. The pink chrysanthemum is floweri...
