I have given up my fight with these little beetles. Eventually, after spraying with pyrethrum, they seemed to disappear for some time, and some viable leaves even appeared.
But, while I had my back turned, a new generation came back for a romp – I didn’t even see one until they had perforated every healthy leaf.
Given the nights are really cooling down now (for our climate), these poor little plants and their vicious boarders have had to go. Replaced by lettuce seed. I’ve not had many pest problems with lettuce, so here’s hoping!
