Photographic proof that flight0001’s mission patches have completed their mission, and in a most appropriate way. The shots were taken in the Hydroponics area at Davis Station, Antarctica, an area that DS has undertaken to look after in his copious spare time scoff! while he’s down there for the year.
During the day his primary role is working as a “Meteorology Technical Officer” servicing related equipment, he also rises at 3a.m (or thereabouts) and sneaks out to do the weather observations and launch the ozone/radio son balloons for the high altitude weather reports.
When that’s all done then the other duties come to the fore and Hydroponics is one of them.

I looked at the title of this post, thought that sounds like Flight 0001 and was puzzled to see you were posting it, graibeard!
Then I read further and those photos are amazing – tomatoes growing in Antarctica.
Just goes to show that even the MOST adverse conditions aren’t enough to deter a True Gardener laugh
Good luck to Flight0001 :-)))

Whoa, No. These are his badges only. The free spirit that is Flight0001 is, I know not where! :-)
When flight0001 sent them over I told him that there is every chance they’d end up in Antarctica, so that became their mission. The last travelogue photo that I got of (from? :) these was off the coast of Antarctica, they’ve now not only made landfall but have established a garden, with DS’s help of course.
