One defective Wall o'Water has deflated, alas
I went to water the garden in light of today’s sunny weather—a preview of summer, apparently—and found one of the imitation Wall o’Waters toppled over. It looks as if the seams that create the individual cells began to fall apart toward the bottom, causing the WoW to lose structural integrity. Oh, well. One other WoW looks a little iffy, but the rest are still standing…
...no thanks to the birds, who tore the collars off of some of the radishes (and tugged one out of the ground). They also seem to have taken a dislike to the name tags for my dahlias. This is nothing new. In previous years, they’ve NOM NOM NOMed my seedling tomatoes and zucchinis, which is why everything goes out under plastic cloche now.
In other news, the Shasta daisies do not look long for this world, but the transplanted rhubarb and potted sorrel are perking up now. I watered them yet again and then fertilized the agapanthus and fading primroses with MorBloom.
Indoors, the paph’s “slipper” is starting to descend from the bud.
