With all the rain over the past 3 weeks the squash and zucchinis have been battling mildew, I think the fact that I planted 3 in the area 1 would normally take up didn’t help, but hey there is no harm in trying everyday when the rain cleared i would spray with milk and 5 minutes later it would start to rain again.
Big Sigh!
So i made the decision to pull them up, i got one squash and one zucchini which i chopped up and fed to the lizard with about half a dozen snails. Oh well im going to plant again in a week or so but maybe just 1 plant in this bed.
Im still going to do a small no dig garden so i will stick a zucchini or two in there.

Thanks for the apt reminder.
I’ve been thinking that this season could well require a rethink. We’ve had so many dry years in a row that it would be too easy to not make allowances.
Last year the heat was the tomato killer, this year it could well be the diseases linked with the wet spring (no doubt even worse up your way? ) I think a bit more breathing room for the plants will definitely be in order.

Couldn`t agree more, and if predictions are correct there is plenty more of the wet stuff to come
