Today it seems that summer has really gone now and not even an indian summer to extend the season. It has rained solidly all day, the wind is blowing and the temperature has dropped significantly.
I have been out and picked some of the last runner beans for supper tonight and while I was out there I had to tie one of the runner bean runs to the shed to stop the wind blowing it over.
I have a few more outdoor tomatoes to pick and some in the blowaway then I can clear them ready for the Christmas potatoes and carrots to go in. I just need a dry day.
I am going to go through all my seeds and be strong and get rid off the ones that are out of date or that I will never use. Like so many of us, I hate throwing away seeds, seedlings, plants and…………………… well, everything I ‘might’ need.
On a more positive note, I have at last, drawn a plan of my part of the garden, measured all the beds and now can plan what goes where next year.
