'Benching' dahlia tubers

Usually I just plant my tubers directly in the ground, but I’d seen some pictures of tubers being started in this manner and was curious to give it a shot. Luckily, one of the nurseries I purchased from this year provided instructions!

Each tray houses about twelve tubers. I’m starting all of my new purchases this way, and am now working on my own overwintered tubers.
