I am writing journals and pottering around the garden as I go here.... Just my luck that it has warmed up a little here today, so I am enjoying the warmer weather, playing around with some water and doing a pot of gardening all at the same time.

Right now, its a warm 21 degrees here in Tasmania and it is great. I will admit that if I was still living in mainland Australia I would probably leave what I am doing now until it was after tea when the weather had cooled of a bit, but here in Tassie it's a little different. I have found that I can still plant things out in the middle of the day without too much fuss and bother from the hot, dry weather that the rest of the country gets. That even included watering in the middle of the day.. can you believe it.. That seems to go against I ever did on mainland Australia.

I still mulch and all that, but I do enjoy gardening so much more down here, due to the weather being so much milder than everywhere else. It never ceases to amaze me what will grow so much more here, somehow I suspect its because we don't get the summer heat like the mainland gets. We seem to be a milder meditarian, cant spell for quids here but its like a milder greek, italian weather here, if you get what I mean

Anyways, better go and put some cardboard and mulch around the strawberries.
