...yes, the last of my irises flowered today. There are two other plants but they didn't flower. I'll divide them up along with the others & hopefully they'll flower next year.

This iris is a funny one. It was severely damaged by some mysterious nasty that also killed off half a nearby herb. It looks rather like spray drift. What ever it is, it's caused most of the iris leaves to die about half way down & the flower buds look thin & almost hollow - not plump like the other irises. The stem dropped overnight, taking the primary flower bud with it (that's why you can see an upside down bud in the photo). The upshot is, the flowers are unusually small & I'm not sure if this is because of the damage or if it's normally this way (as I haven't seen this one bloom before). I guess I won't know until next year when it blooms again.

Aside from all that, it has a very strong, sweet scent. I also suspect the falls normally droop down more than in the photo (it's only just come out, so may still unfold a bit more).

I've really enjoyed seeing them all flower. After the blooms are finished, I'll be dividing everything up (probably in Dec). If you'd like to do a swap (of any of the irises I've put up over the last few weeks), let me know & we can organise something.
