I don't do much of that in the garden. I did haul the two dahlies and my Gartenmeister fuchsia into the garage (after clipping them down, as otherwise the foliage rots and they get disgustingly buggy).

I have one clematis still in a large pot that I will probably add to the garage collection, though first I need to move a couple of things that have slid out into *my* space.

My 'Christmas' cactus is blooming; it's always liked Thanksgiving -- the heat in the house and a little extra water bring on the flowers. It'll bloom several times a year, if the watering happens. This plant has been in the family for years -- decades.

The popcorn orchid died. It didn't like being treated for mealy bugs. All the orchids of that type suffered them horribly. There's one in the sewing room still. The two flat leaf kinds coped better with treatment and are, I think, ok.

Yes, very technical language there, isn't it?

This year, for the first time since I don't know when, I bought an amaryllis bulb. They've not been satisfactory to me since I grew them outside down in South Carolina: the spreading patch was so fantastic that one in a pot is like . .. one lick on a Tootsie Pop, or one potato chip.
