It is fall at last...well, has been for about a week.
I've been following the discussions of what to do with leaves...store them, compost them now, or my currrent choice for the leaves in my yard-shred them in situ and let them fertilize the yard.
The first two pictures are of the partially mown yard. I think it is easy to see that mowing the leaves is leaving a nice looking lawn behind...as good as raking would have.

I did no raking, btw, that's the actual layer of leaves that has fallen from the tree. I'll mow again when the tree has finished dropping leaves. The recommendations I've been given are to mow as much as needed to shred the leaves, but to keep the cutting height high--at least 3 inches.

The other two pictures are looking up into the tree. Still lots of leaves to come down!
