<description>I went to thin these out ready for the &quot;new arbor's&quot;:http://myfolia.com/journals/70401-captain-obvious-whispers-turn-them-sideways-dopey plantings and realized that they were full of fruit. Rather than waste them in the haste to plant, it was time to combine a cleanup with a harvest and do a batch of &quot;Pickled Nasturtium Buds&quot;:http://www.recipezaar.com/Pickled-Nasturtium-Buds-19858 , or mock capers.
The crew were settling down for an afternoon of socializing, so what better time to introduce them to the art of harvesting combined with conversation. Mouths and hands, both busy!
The end result was 1009 grams plus what ever they nibbled on. Either way I can honestly say it was over a kilogram of fruit, buds, mock capers or whatever they are called.

Taste I'd say was peppery, very much stronger than the leaves. Flowers were milder again and I'd even say that the red flowers were sweeter than the orange ones. The Orange bush was more vigorous, with apparently less fruit. The red one was more compact and appeared loaded with fruit. I didn't weigh each batch though so the fruit quantity may have just been due to each plants differing area.
